The Social Science Research Council is committed to protecting the privacy of
individuals using the SSRC Online Application Portal. Please take a moment to
review the nature of that commitment.
As a matter of policy, the SSRC
does not automatically track or store any personal information about visitors to
the Online Application Portal, http://applications.ssrc.org . You may
view or download the general information on this site without providing any
personal information. The SSRC does maintain standard logs that provide
information on the number of users, the domain names and IP addresses of users,
the Website files accessed, and other items. This information does not identify
individual users and is used solely for administrative purposes. The aggregate
data collected may also be used for statistical research, including analyses of
trends, and for reporting to SSRC funders. The SSRC makes every effort to
protect the security and encryption of personal information. Data transmitted
through the SSRC Online Application Portal is encrypted through a secure
socket layer protocol, though done at a level which avoids impeding electronic
access for those with slow connectivity to the internet.
If you
indicate your desire to be notified about opportunities to participate in or be
notified about SSRC activities, please indicate this desire by filling out the
appropriate section of the Online Registration area. As deemed appropriate, we
will notify you about fellowship programs, deadlines, academic initiatives, and
programs for intellectual community development in which your expertise and
support may be sought. Personal information that is provided by the user for a
specific use (e.g. for application for a program or mailing of a publication) is
used for the stated purpose only. The SSRC does not sell or provide the
information you input to any other organizations.
